  1. 1.  Arnout t'Kint was born on 17 Oct 1464 in Baardegem, East Flanders, Belgium; died on 23 Aug 1549 in Baardegem, East Flanders, Belgium.

    Notes:

    De naam Arnoud verwijst naar de heilige Arnoldus, patroonheilige van de molenaars en de brouwers. In de famlilie t'Kint, herbergiers en brouwers, zal het een familietraditee worden om aan één van de kinderen de voornaam Arnoud of Arnoult te geven.

    In 1489 laat Aert t'Kint zich als poorter te Brussel registreren, waarbij vermeld wordt dat hij buiten de stad woonde en niet hoefde te betalen, omdat hij van de Geslachten afstamde. Aanvaard in het Rodenbeke geslacht 1502 "van dat Aert, soen wylen Jans, dien hy hadde van wylen Kathelyn van der Meeren, Gielys dochter, uut Roodenbeecx geslechte geboere es". De familie t'Kint zal van dan af het wapenschild van dit geslacht aannemen met toevoeging van vijf blokjes aan weerszijden van de gegolfde schuinbalk.

    Aert t'Kint woonde met zijn familie in de ouderlijke afspanning t'Schaeck gelegen nabij de kerk aan het kruispunt van de baan van Dendermonde naar Brussel met deze van Aalst naar Mechelen. Ongetwijfeld is deze afspanning met bijhorende brouwerij en hoeve een ontmoetingsplaats geweest voor vele handelaars, kunstenaars en ambtenaren.

    Aert was goed geschoold wat blijkt uit het feit dat hij door een aantal geestelijke instellingen aangesteld werd om bezittingen in en om Baardegem te beheren. van hem is een eigenhandig geschreven verslag uit 1532 bewaard in verband met een gracht die hij keurde.

    Meier van het laathof van Zwijveke (*) 1538 en erflaat van Affligem te Baardegem 1512 en 1545 en Pitzenburg 1515. Begraven met zijn vrouw in de kerk

    (*) De cisterciënzerabdij van Zwijveke werd gesticht in 1223 te Dendermonde. In 1451 verkreeg de abdij haar cijnsgronden te Baardegem en Mazenzele, waarvoor een laathof met een meier en een eigen rechtspraak werd opgericht. De verpachte goederen te Baardegem omvatten bijna 12 bunder (15 hectare).
