Mr. McGeachy joined he Royal Canadian Navy in 1939 and served until 1945.     Flora Dewar
    February 11, 1913 - March 31, 2011
    DEWAR (formerly SPINK) - Flora (nee McGeachy) passed away peacefully at the age of 98. Flora is survived by her grandchildren John David (Jay) Price, Alison Williams, Adrienne teBaerts (Gus) and her great grandchildren Karena, Daniel and Jacqueline. She was predeceased by her first husband Thomas Spink, her second husband George Dewar, her three children David Spink, William (Bill) Spink, Kathleen (Kay) Price and her grandson David Spink. Grandma Flora was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #74 and #2. She became Worthy Matron of #74 in 1965/1966 and was a Grand Representative in 1979/1980. She was a retiree of Sears Canada and enjoyed an active retirement with a flair for gardening and was a champion lawn bowler until the age of 91. Grandma Flora loved to regale the family with stories of her immigration to Canada; arriving by ship from Scotland, traveling across the vast country by train, the horse and wagon days in Alberta followed by her eventual move to Vancouver by car. Her keen sense of humor, effortless grace and wonderful stories will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff at Royal Arch Masonic Home for the wonderful care they provided Grandma Flora. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the BC Cancer Foundation, Order of the Eastern Star Fund - Chapter #2.     On Tuesday, December 22, 1992, Duncan McGeachy of Lacombe, Alberta passed away at the age of 78 years.
    He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife, Vera. He is also survived by three brothers, John (Ella) McGeachy of Surrey, B.C., Bill (Elsie) McGeachy of Rimbey, Alberta, James of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta; four sisters, Mary (Archie) Scalley of Campbeltown, Scotland, Flora Dewar of Vancouver, B.C., Isa Adams of Rocky Mountain House, and Margaret Proudfoot of Lacombe, Alberta, also numerous nieces and nephews, friends and relatives. Duncan was predeceased by his two brothers, Edward and Robert.
    In keeping with his wishes, no service will be held. Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Lacombe, in care of arrangements.

    Mr. William 'Bill' McGeachy of Rimbey, Alberta passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre on November 28, 1998 at the age of 80 years.
    Bill was born on May 17, 1918 in Campbeltown, Scotland, the eighth child of Duncan and Mary McGeachy. He immigrated to Canada with his parents in March, 1927, at the age of eight years. Bill was a member of the Calgary Tank Corps and served his country in many parts of the world. He was united in marriage to Elsie Brown in 1946. Together with his brother-in-law, Elmer Brown, Bill owned and operated Rimbey Safety Service Shell Station and Bulk Dealership for 27 years. He loved his sports, but he especially loved his involvement with the Rimbey Lions Club and Lions International. Bill was a truly devoted Lions member, serving 44 years in perfect attendance.
    Bill's greatest joy was his family; and being special 'Uncle Bill' to many. He teased, consoled, listened, scolded and was always there for those who needed him.
    'He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him'
    Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elsie; and one daughter, Paddy Lynn McGeachy of Rimbey. He will also be lovingly remembered by two sisters, Flora Dewar of Vancouver, B.C. and Margaret Proudfoot of Rimbey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
    Funeral services were held at the Rimbey United Church, Rimbey, Alberta on Saturday, December 5, 1998 at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Glen Simmons officiating. Cremation.     Margaret Proudfoot was born March 22, 1920 in Campbelltown, Scotland and passed away April
    15, 2007 in Rimbey, Alberta.
    Margaret immigrated to Canada in 1928 with her parents, three sisters and six brothers. They settled
    in the Lincoln District northwest of Lacombe. She married Cecil Proudfoot in 1942 and they farmed in the Spruceville District. Margaret later worked at the Rimbey Hospital for several years.
    She was predeceased by six brothers, two sisters and leaves to mourn one sister, Flora Dewar of Vancouver, B.C. and several nephews and nieces.
    Funeral Services were held from Wilson's Funeral Chapel, 6120 Highway 2A, Lacombe, Alberta on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment followed in the Lacombe Fairview Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, #134 1935

    McGEACHY, James (Jim)
    On June 26, 1998, Mr. James (Jim) McGeachy passed away suddenly in the Royal Alexandra Hospital at the age of 71.
    He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Duncan (Jane) McGeachy of Edmonton, Sandy Erickson of Ardrossan, Donald McGeachy of St. Albert, Heather (Mark) Robinson of Calgary, Malcolm (Andrea) McGeachy of Brockville, Ontario and Burce McGeachy of Calgary. He will also be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Wendy Erickson of Sherwood Park, Mike (Tobey) Morris of Edmonton, Michelle Morris of Edmonton, Alanna, Shannon and Laurel Robinson of Calgary; his brother, Bill (Elsie) McGeachy of Rimbey, Alberta; sister, Flora Dewar of Vancouver, B.C. and Margaret Proudfoot of Rimbey, Alberta. He will be dearly missed by his brother-in-law, and friend, John Harrold of Namao; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his wife, Alice in 1991; four brothers and three sisters.
    Jim was born in Campbelltown, Scotland and emigrated to Canada when he was a baby. The McGeachy family farmed on the shores of Gull Lake for many years. He loved to play baseball in his earlier years. Jim had a wonderful voice and was very keen on a musical career, but decided to try a variety of jobs before settling in Fort Saskatchewan. He worked at Sherritt Gordon for over 30 years. He was well liked by co-workers and friends and always had a great tale to tell. Jim was a man of many talents, but chief among them was working with his hands, especially woodworking. He coached minor hockey and played in the old-timers league for many years.

    Mr. Robert Duncan "Bob" McGeachy of Diamond Valley, Alberta (Eckville) passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the age of 78 years. Robert was born in Lacombe, Alberta on December 26, 1931. He traveled throughout the provinces pipeling before marrying his wife Evelyn and residing on the farm in the Diamond Valley Area. Robert was dedicated and hard working in everything he spent time on. He always had a high standard of ethics, values and integrity. Robert is survived by his sons Greg, Murray (Nancy) of Eckville, Wayne of Red Deer and grandson Brett. He is also survived by his special friend and companion, Jean Winter of Red Deer. He was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn McGeachy in 2006. A memorial service will be held at the Eckville Community Centre, Eckville, Alberta, on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with The Reverend Sandra Franklin-Law, officiating.
