Clair Headrick
FLANDREAU - Clair W. Headrick, 84, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at his farm near Flandreau.
He was born May 24, 1916, on a farm northwest of Flandreau. He attended Stagelman rural school and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Rochford. He worked as a farm hand in Moody County.
He married Margaret Gregg on Dec. 23, 1941, in Sioux Falls. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II, and was captured in 1944. He was liberated from a prisoner-of-war camp in 1945 and returned home later that year. He attended welding training at the Flandreau Indian School, then worked for Dibble Motors in Pipestone, Minn. He started his own body shop in Flandreau, then began farming in 1960. He moved into town in 1987.
He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Flandreau Masonic Lodge No. 11, AF & AM, Flandreau American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Siouxland Chapter of the AX-POW. He served as former commander of the South Dakota State POW organization.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret two sons: Gregg of Phoenix, and Roger of Luverne, Minn. three daughters: Jolene Dobbs of Rapid City, Margo Zephier of Flandreau, and Cindy Dornbush of Omaha 10 grandchildren a great-granddaughter three brothers: Clifford and Richard, both of Flandreau, and John of Sioux Falls and three sisters: Mildred Applegate of Citrus Heights, Calif., Lois Allen of Mesa, Ariz., and Nadine Boever of Brinnon, Wash.
Services begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Second Presbyterian Church in Flandreau with burial in Union Cemetery.
Visitation begins at 3 p.m. today at the Skroch Funeral Chapel in Flandreau with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Clifford Headrick
Flandreau - Clifford "Chip" Headrick, 84, died Fri., Feb. 28, 2003, at the Flandreau Medical Center. Chip was born on July 31, 1918, at rural Flandreau, SD to Peter (Jim) and Lulu (Cavner) Headrick. He attended Stagelman School in rural Moody County. Chip married Elaine Schult on March 15, 1939, at Flandreau and began farming. Elaine died on Aug. 9, 1956. Chip was married to Hazel Stimson on Aug. 20, 1966, at Flandreau. They continued farming until his retirement in 1983. Chip was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he served as elder and deacon. He was a Past Master and an active member of the Masons and a member of the Shrine and Eastern Star. He was a field man for ASCS for many years before and after he retired from farming. Mildred Lulu was born in Flandreau on Oct. 11, 1921 to Peter James and Lulu Cavner Headrick, Sr. She graduated from Flandreau High School in 1939 and worked in California as a bookkeeper and office manager in the construction industry for 35 years and also worked in real estate. She was a resident of Sacramento, CA for 60 years.
Mildred is survived by her children: Judy Boone of Kansas City, MO, Linda (Don) McDowell, Rescue, CA and James (Paulette), Denair, CA; two brothers: Richard (LaVonne) Headrick, Flandreau; John (Marilyn) Headrick, Sioux Falls; two sisters: Lois (Cliff) Sorenson, Brookings and Nadine (Vern) Boever, Sumner, WA; three sisters-in-law: Hazel Headrick and Margaret Headrick, both of Flandreau and Edna Headrick, Sioux Falls; ten grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschell, parents, two sisters: Blanche Headrick and Marge Latham and four brothers: Vernon, Jimmie, Clair and Chip Headrick.

Boyd was born June 16, 1933, on a farm near Trent, SD, to James and Eldora (Larson) Headrick. He graduated from Egan High School in 1951 and then attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls. He married Lorraine Frauenberg on August 27, 1952, at Sioux Falls. Boyd farmed and then did TV repair for several years. He went to work for Royal River Casino in 1990 retiring in Aug. of 2001 as Supervisor of Hosts. Boyd was active in baseball where he coached and umpired and also announced at football games for Flandreau. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Flandreau Booster Club and a former member of the Kiwanis. Boyd is survived by 5 children, Steve(Coral),Flandreau; DeVere(Barb), Aurora, IL; Corrine(Art) Moynihan, Ellettsville, IN; Rhonda(Ron) Harris, Sioux Falls; and Coleen (Rod) Schaefer, Phoenix, AZ; 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchilden, 1 brother, Curtis (Shirley), Brandon,SD; and 2 sisters, Marjorie(David) Sands, Sac City, IA; Sandra Koester, Flandreau; and several nieces and nephews. Sioux Falls- Tammie A. Schwebach, age 48, died peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on Saturday, Sept. 13th, her birthday and son, Aaron's wedding day.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 17th, at First Lutheran Church, 327 S. Dakota Ave. Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday at George Boom Funeral Home, Sioux Falls, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Tammie Ann Headrick was born on September 13th, 1960 in Sioux Falls to John and Shirley (Grotjohn) Headrick. She graduated from Washington High School in 1978. On December 10th, 1983 she was united in marriage with Cliff Schwebach in Sibley, Iowa. The couple made their home in Sibley until 1986 when they moved to Little Rock, IA where they lived until moving back to Sioux Falls in 1991. Tammie began her career with Citibank in 1984 where she is still employed. Tammie loved spending time with her family, whether camping at her favorite campground in the Black Hills, or sitting around the house, her family always came first. Tammie also loved to travel and spend time on her computer.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Cliff Schwebach of Sioux Falls; step-daughter, Michelle Ling and her husband Mark of Jackson, MN; three sons, Eric McKercher, Aaron Schwebach and his wife Heather, Kiley Schwebach and his Fiance Lacey Anderson all of Sioux Falls; two grandchildren, Kenny and Chantelle Ling of Jackson MN; her father and step-mother, John Headrick and his wife Marilyn of Sioux Falls; mother, Shirley Headrick of Sioux Falls; brother, Kevin Headrick of Sioux Falls; sister, Kim Wiertzema and her husband Robbie of Little Rock, IA; and many aunts, uncles and friends.
