August 1900. Re. thanking his sister for money received for
the coming year at college [Queen's University?], the
quantity and expense of the books he's required to buy, his
goal to become a teacher, his housemates, his board with a
Nova Scotian who also speaks Gaelic, description of and
report of the death of a favourite professor [brother of
Sir Oliver Mowat], professors' tendencies to "crack jokes"
in class, description of Professor McNaughton, improvements
to dormitories, questions about the Canadian West, and
requesting a further $50. 1 page, double sided; has been
nibbled by mice along crease. Is accompanied by note in
hand of the compiler, "Letter 1900 from Great Uncle
Malcolm McCormick my grandfather's brother to his sister
Mary (McCormick) McNaughton".
