Here lies the remains of Archd MacLean farmer in this parish who departed the 12th Oct 1788 aged 92 years likewise the body of Cathrin Smith his spouse who died the 19th June 1786 aged 79 years to whose memory this stone is erected by their sons

The text on the gravestone reads of Duncan Clark and Janet Lamont reads: Erected by Isabella Clark in memory of her father Duncan Clark, farmer in Gortonansaig, who died 12 Oct 1799 aged 82 years also his spouse Janet Lamont who died .5 ... 1805 aged 88 The stone of Isabella Clark is more weathered but one can read she was married to John Ritchie
