  Notes	The NZSG Index on CD, records that "McKeich A." left Melbourne on the "Ringarooma" on 13 November 1875 bound for Bluff. He arrived at Bluff on 17 November 1875. A. McKeich (presumably Archibald) was single, a miner, aged 29 and born in Scotland. This is the first indication that Archibald was born in Scotland. There is no record of this birth in the IGI Files The truth is that he married Emily Gordon on 12 November 1875 the day before the sailing and was 24 years of age. Emily was pregnant with their first child, Mary, who was born on 14 April 1876 in Invercargill. Archibald's date of birth has not been verified although 1851 seems likely since his father, James, left Scotland on 16 September 1850. Mary, James's wife, did not leave for Australia until late 1854 or early 1855 and the second son, Robert, was born at Fiery Creek, Victoria, on 5 September 1855 No record of Mary's sailing can be found.
