  	MCGEACHY Red Deer Advocate Red Deer http://web.bcnewsgroup.com/portals-code/obits.cgi?paper=107&submit=&name=&skip=5044 MCGEACHY, 1930 - 2006 Mrs. Evelyn Violet 'Ev' McGeachy, beloved wife of Mr. Robert 'Bob' McGeachy of the Eckville Area, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at the age of 76 years. Ev was born on April 3, 1930 at Wildwood, Alberta. On July 20, 1960, she married her husband Bob. Ev enjoyed her career as a teacher and taught in Wildwood, Pioneer, Lacombe and Bentley. In 1965, she moved to the Diamond Valley District. She loved sports and Ev was the biggest sports fan. She was very competitive and especially loved golf, curling, playing cards and also enjoyed softball, in her younger years. She was a long standing member of the Diamond Valley Ladies Club. Ev prided herself on good strong structure within the family unit and in her life. She was not afraid to speak her mind to others or to correct them when she thought necessary. She also had a great passion and love of gardening during the summer months. Ev will be very deeply missed but lovingly remembered and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and dear friends. Ev leaves to mourn her loss, her loving husband of forty-six years, Bob of the Eckville area, her sons, Greg and Murray (Nancy), all of Eckville, son, Wayne (Dalyce) of Red Deer and her grandson, Brett of Benalto. Ev was predeceased by her father, her mother, two brothers and a sister. A Public Memorial Service will be held at the Eckville Community Centre, Eckville, Alberta on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to the Central Alberta Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
