From Mr Archibald MacLean, Glaic near South Hall. He is an old man of 85 years of age, and can tell a tale punctually, without stopping or hesitating. He lives in an old-fashioned house, with a lothin brace in the kitchen instead of a vent, which lets the heat of a fire out through the house better than a vent does. His furniture is not of the costly ornamental kind, but convenient and comfortable. His brother Lauchan is a boat-builder and has the name of being such a good tradesman that there is not a better.
