    OBITUARY
    MRS. MARGARET MATHIESON
A link with one of the most fascinating phases of Australian history has been severed by the death of Mrs. Margaret Mathieson at Sale on Saturday. Mrs. Mathieson was the widow of the late Archibald Mathieson, founder of the well known firm of Mathieson and Davis, stock and station agents. Mrs. Mathieson was a grand-daughter of the pastoral pioneer, John McMillan, who explored much of the Loddon country and took up Lake Leaghur Station in 1842 (his licence was granted in 1845). This pioneer left Lake Leaghur to his son, Alex McMillan, who took into partnership his brother-in-law, John Boyd McDonald, Mrs. Mathieson's father. Mrs. Mathieson is survived by 4 daughters and a son: Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Dennett, Mrs. Morrison, Mrs. Chalmer, and Mr. H. J. Mathieson, of Grasslea Estate, Nambrok.
